Community Involvement

Our community involvement starts with our people. CPC directly employs many professionals and technicians in a variety of fields. In addition, we contribute to the creation of indirect employment in Puerto Rico through the contracting of different firms which provide us with services and materials that make our operation possible and reliable.

The U.S. Federal Government has listed the leatherback turtles as an endangered species worldwide since June 1970.Within the U.S., the leatherback turtle is known to nest in Southeastern Florida, Culebra, Puerto Rico, and St. Croix. In 1982, Peter Pritchard estimated that 115,000 adult female leatherbacks existed worldwide and that roughly half of them probably were nesting in western Mexico. In recent years, however, the number of nesting leatherbacks has been in an alarming decline. Current estimates are that only 20,000-30,000 female leatherbacks exist worldwide.

CPC, in its effort to be a good citizen within the Puerto Rican community and the world environment, has adopted the Project for the Conservation of Leatherback Turtles in Culebra, PR. We cordially invite you to know these beautiful creatures and help us preserve them.

CPC proudly sponsors it hometown City of Bayamón’s well known basketball team "Los Vaqueros". Sports promote discipline and character and clearly improved our quality of life as a community. As a company, CPC is interested in helping to develop the interest in sports throughout our community, especially among the youngsters. The benefit is for us all!
